Training courses

The Internet of Things, machine learning, blockchain: Digitalization is associated with many different new technologies and advancements that businesses need to be ready for. One important step in the process is preparing staff – from software developers and IT administrators to departments, business analysts and project managers – to take on the digital transformation.

Lufthansa Industry Solutions offers a wide range of specific, topical training courses with workshop elements – for CIOs too. Because we have many years of experience and a wide range of services in the corresponding sectors, from the manufacture of sensor boards and the development and deployment of new software to application management and data analytics, the events provide a high level of practical, real-world relevance. The courses also support participants in discovering application scenarios for new technologies such as blockchain or IoT in their own professional environments.

Our IT training courses can be booked individually and can be held either on site at your company or in our virtual classroom. We are happy to provide a venue for the courses in Frankfurt and Hamburg. What is more, the content of the courses can be tailored to your company’s specific needs. RapidMiner

Basics Part 1

Because it is particularly well suited for analyzing large quantities of data, machine learning is increasingly making inroads in the business world as the digital transformation advances. RapidMiner Basics – Part 1 provides a two-day introduction to data mining and predictive analytics using RapidMiner Studio. Based on two easily understandable case studies, participants will learn to explore and process data, as well as how to develop a predictive model using RapidMiner Studio. The course uses a mentoring-based approach, and participants will work as a team of data scientists. Practical exercises will help them apply the knowledge they gain directly to their own data mining problems.

Participants must have basic mathematical skills and be proficient in the use of software. This course is identical with the RapidMiner Basics 1 training offered by RapidMiner and prepares participants for RapidMiner Analyst certification. Our instructors are certified by RapidMiner.

RapidMiner

Basics Part 2

RapidMiner Basics – Part 2 is a two-day follow-up course to RapidMiner Basics – Part 1  that strengthens and reinforces knowledge about data mining and predictive analysis using RapidMiner Studio. In the course, participants will explain and develop sophisticated analytical models and get to know all of RapidMiner Studio’s features and functions. Working as a team with a mentoring-based approach, participants will attempt to master the analytical challenges.

Successful completion of the course will enable participants to manage complex data processing tasks and develop and analyze sophisticated forecast models. Participants must be proficient in the skills covered in RapidMiner Basics – Part 1. This course is identical with the RapidMiner Basics 2 training offered by RapidMiner and prepares participants for RapidMiner Analyst certification. Our instructors are certified by RapidMiner.

Hadoop

Basics

Because it allows users to process large quantities of data on computer clusters, Hadoop is becoming increasingly important, especially in connection with big data. This two-day Hadoop basics course focuses on developments in the field of big data and the various technologies collectively known as Hadoop. The practically oriented concept allows participants to gain first experience with the Hardoop Distributed File System, MapReduce, Spark, Hive and the YARN ResourceManager, while also teaching them how the various technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem all offer businesses added value. Participants will import data into a Hadoop cluster, process it and export it. Using ZooKeeper technology, they will learn how to systematically and consistently manage the wide range of applications.

Participants must have basic knowledge of Linux and SQL. Lufthansa Industry Solutions offers the one-day advanced seminars Hadoop for Business and Hadoop for Analysts to expand upon the skills learned in this course.

DevOps

Continuous Delivery and Deployment

DevOps combines development and operations and is increasingly growing in importance. Businesses need to eliminate the separation between IT development and traditional IT operations to speed up development cycles while maintaining consistently high quality. In this course, participants will get to know various tools and methods that support the transition to continuous software development including automated testing and deployment. Typical applications, discussions and practical exercises in the system will illustrate DevOps and enhance participants’ learning results.

Participants must have practical experience in software development. They should also have experience in operations and continuing development. The course consists of four parts of three hours each and can be held on two consecutive days or over a period of several days with homework assignments to reinforce knowledge.

Industry 4.0/Internet of Things (IoT)

Trends and Challenges

Because they are the foundation for innovative business models and data-based services, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) are both central concepts of digitalization. In addition to the trends and challenges associated with Industry 4.0 and the difference between Industry 4.0 and IoT, this one-day training course also teaches technology enthusiasts ways that businesses can develop IoT architecture. The course covers sensor technology, machine data collection and connectivity components while providing an overview of different IoT platforms. During the hands-on component of the course, participants will assemble an IoT device with the various components. They will then explore six selected case studies, from track-and-trace to predictive maintenance solutions. In addition, participants will gain important knowledge about wireless technologies for sensor data transmission as well as localization technologies.

Participants should have a fundamental interest in IT as well as basic programming knowledge for the hands-on portion of the course. However, the course can also be shortened to train departments and project managers.
