New organizing tool supports both human resources and employees
Lufthansa Industry Solutions has successfully introduced employee and management self services in the Heidelberg University Hospital. As reported in the current issue of the hospital magazine Krankenhaus IT Journal,this new organizing tool supports both human resources and employees by enabling more efficient planning. For instance, one of the options it offers is to better coordinate individual wishes when compiling duty rosters. This enables resources to be put to more efficient use. What is more, the less onerous work load leaves employees more time to concentrate on what is most important – the health of the patients.
Now employees can largely carry out on their own many tasks that are usually handled by the human resources department. These include on the one hand simple processes, such as notification of the absence of respective team members. On the other, they can attend to complex self services in the areas of timekeeping or vacation planning with integrated approval processes by the respective superior. The portal supports communication between employees and executives, as well as collaboration between centralized and decentralized departments.
