Schleswig-Holstein’s Prime Minister visits Lufthansa Industry Solutions at the Hanover Fair

Monitoring industrial fans or pinpointing forklift loads: Schleswig-Holstein’s Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) was at the Hanover Fair on Monday trying out the latest Industry 4.0 applications at the Lufthansa Industry Solutions booth.

Norderstedt, April 24, 2018 – Daniel Günther, Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, visited the stand of Norderstedt-based Lufthansa Industry Solutions at the start of the Hanover Messe. The politician tried out the practice-oriented use cases for Industry 4.0 in Hall 6.

The reason for the visit was the Schleswig-Holstein Day being held for the first time at the Hanover Messe, at which the northernmost German State showed how science and SMEs working together can spur innovation. At the stand, Prime Minister Günther was shown applications that meet real-world needs while staff explained to him how the company creates user-oriented solutions by means of a digital lab. In particular, the minister also spoke out in favor of more interchange between companies in Schleswig-Holstein.

“Digitalization is changing industry like hardly any other development. We also see this as an opportunity for Schleswig-Holstein,” says Prime Minister Daniel Günther. “The state government of Schleswig-Holstein has therefore made the topic of digitalization one of the focal points of its governmental activity.” This orientation appeals to the Norderstedt-based IT service provider. “We are tackling the digital transformation from our headquarters in Norderstedt. As a company with more than 1,500 employees around the world, we are looking for new IT talent everywhere, of course. This year alone, we want to hire more than 300 new employees,” added Bernd Appel, Managing Director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions.
