Rainer Liebhart appointed Managing Director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions
Appointment from within the company: Rainer Liebhart will become Managing Director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND) as of May 1, 2026. Since joining the company in 2008, he has played a key role in shaping the organization through various leadership positions. He will now assume full responsibility for the IT service provider.

Norderstedt, May 5, 2026 – Rainer Liebhart succeeds Dietmar Focke at the Lufthansa subsidiary, who is moving to the Executive Board of Fraport AG. Focke is handing over a well-managed company whose revenue has grown steadily, while also advancing the modernization of internal structures.
Building on the successful development of recent years, Rainer Liebhart aims to lead Lufthansa Industry Solutions into its next chapter, with the goal of further expanding its strategic role within the Lufthansa Group while consistently driving growth in the external market. The focus will be on operational excellence, artificial intelligence, and customer centricity: “Through projects both within and beyond the Lufthansa Group, we deliver unique value to our customers.” says the new LHIND Managing Director. “While our customers in industries such as mobility, logistics, energy, and retail benefit from our experience with complex and safety-critical IT projects in the aviation industry, valuable insights and new approaches from other industries also flow back into the Lufthansa Group. Liebhart has been with Lufthansa Industry Solutions for nearly two decades and has helped build up several key divisions. After joining as a Key Account Manager, he became Head of the “Transport Logistics & Rail” business unit in 2011. He later assumed international responsibilities in Switzerland, as well as leadership roles as Vice President of Air Cargo Logistics and, most recently, as Head of Delivery. In these positions, he played a key role in the expansion of strategic business areas and the operational development of LHIND.
