Lufthansa Industry Solutions purchases IT service provider in Tirana

Additional skills in the application management and software development fields / Next logical step in implementing growth strategy

Norderstedt, April 15, 2019 – Lufthansa Industry Solutions has taken over the Tirana-based company “Applications Management Development” (AMD). Going forward, the Albanian IT service provider will operate under the name Lufthansa Industry Solutions. AMD's former managing director Uwe Fischer will continue to manage the business.

AMD was founded in March 2017 and since then has been providing IT services for Lufthansa Industry Solutions as a nearshore partner. The IT company currently has more than 120 employees and is particularly active in the fields of UI (Angular, JSF, React), portals (Sharepoint, Camunda), mobile (iOS, Android), Java, front and backend development and test automation.

“Lufthansa Industry Solutions is pursuing a consistent growth strategy to meet the rising demand for IT services,” says Bernd Appel, Managing Director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions. “With the acquisition of AMD, we have now for the first time also brought additional capacities into the company from the external market. The quality of the work performed by AMD impressed us from the very start.”

The number of employees at Lufthansa Industry Solutions has been steadily growing for years. At present, the IT company employs more than 1,600 members of staff, who work for clients in a wide variety of different lines of Business.
