AI and data analytics skills are being combined into a new business unit / IT specialists will provide consultancy and implementation services for companies across various sectors
Norderstedt, February 3, 2019 – As Vice President, Dr. Susan Wegner is taking over leadership of the newly founded business unit Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics at Lufthansa Industry Solutions with immediate effect. This is a newly created position. Dr. Wegner, who holds a doctorate in informatics, will report directly to Bernd Appel, Managing Director of Lufthansa Industry Solutions.
Dr. Susan Wegner previously worked at Deutsche Telekom AG, where she was Vice President for Data, Artificial Intelligence & Governance (Chief Data Officer). She has been working on technological developments in digitalization, data science and artificial intelligence since the 1990s and has many years of experience in structuring and leading innovative developments within the Deutsche Telekom Group. Dr. Wegner has also worked in various leadership positions at Media Broadcast GmbH, T-Systems and Robert Bosch GmbH. Furthermore, she is a member of the European Commission Expert Group on Business-to-Government (B2G) Data Sharing as well as a member of the Managing Board of the Bitkom Big Data Group.
The new business unit Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics of Lufthansa Industry Solutions combines the company’s AI and data analytics skills and will provide consultancy and implementation services for companies across various sectors. In doing so, the IT specialists will support their customers in all divisions of the value-added chain, from strategy through to operation.
