Lufthansa Industry Solutions at the Hamburger IT Strategietage

Artificial Intelligence – from the future to the present

Using the motto “The Future Normal”, the Hamburger IT Strategietage will take place this year for the first time entirely digitally from February 22-26, 2021. As co-host of the event with Managing Director Bernd Appel, Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND) is contributing lectures, chats and a virtual trade fair booth on the topics Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, SAP and Smart Supply Chain. In addition, Bernd Appel is a guest on a talk on the blue sofa and the company will host a round-table discussion entitled “Artificial Intelligence – From the Future to the Present”.

Norderstedt, February 17, 2021 – Artificial Intelligence is no longer a fanciful ideal, but in many companies is already an important component of economic success. Even though initial skepticism has given way to general acceptance, companies still must clear a number of hurdles when they decide to use Artificial Intelligence. What effect does AI have on my business processes and employees? How do I prevent AI from making discriminatory or unfair decisions? How do I move AI from use case to operations and to production? Will there be ready-made AI soon?

These and other questions are posed by the speakers Dr. Michael Lontke, (CIO, All4Labels) and Heiko Packwitz (Lufthansa Industry Solutions) during the round-table discussion “Artificial Intelligence – From the Future to the Present” on Tuesday, February 23 at noon at the Hamburger IT Strategietage. In the subsequent Deep Dive, Dr. Susan Wegner, Vice President Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics at LHIND, together with participants, illuminates the opportunities and limitations of Artificial Intelligence for companies in Germany.

In his keynote “Volocopter: Launching Urban Air Mobility. Setup of the digital backbone”, Alexander Oelling, CDO Volocopter, reports on February 24 at 10:30 a.m., on a new type of mobility in a regulated market and on how the goal of breathing life into urban air mobility will be achieved.

A glimpse behind the curtain on the topic “The Digital Transformation in Air Freight” is made possible by Dr. Jochen Göttelmann, CIO of Lufthansa Cargo. In the new “CIO at Home” format, participants can accompany him and have him show them how digitalization further accelerates air freight.

The Hamburger IT Strategietage, which are organized by Hamburg@work, FAKTOR 3 LIVE and CIO magazine, this year for the first time take place virtually and using new formats. More than 1,000 CIOs from German companies are expected for the event.
